Evesham Golf Club will play host to some of the best PGA professionals in the Midlands on Friday 6th September.

The club is celebrating the fantastic achievement of our 125th year anniversary by staging a member only Pro-Am.

Rob Steele, the clubs Head PGA professional, has organised the event and wanted to honour this milestone in style by giving the members the chance to enjoy a day playing with a professional (seeing how it’s done?)

In the clubs 125 years existence there have only been five Professionals; the remarkable Ray Gray held his post for over 70 years, thus becoming the longest-serving professional in the UK. He was then followed by Charles Haines, who is now Professional at Olton Golf Club. Charlie is returning to his former club to play in the Pro-Am and will no doubt see some old faces and celebrate with his previous members.

Charlie was followed by Dan Cummins (now at Blackwell Golf Club). Due to commitments Dan sadly can’t make the occasion. Dan was followed by Dan Clee who has agreed to come back and celebrate with his previous members who he spent 12 years with.

Twenty-three teams are due to compete on the day, all being members of the club.

The event has been sponsored by a local company, Nationwide Produce. This was helped by some of the club’s members that work for Nationwide Produce. Without their support the event could not have taken place, so a huge thank you must go to them.
