The Leicestershire golfing girls got together at Glen Gorse GC last month for their County Championships.

25 girls played in the three competitions available – 36/18 & 9 hole events. It was great to see the migration of girls from last year’s 9 to 18 holes, and 18 holers to the full 36 hole championship!

Huge congratulations to the 2020 Girls’ Champion Eleanor Parkinson of Willesley Park who shot 75/75 – 150. Runner up Gross was Francecsca Brimm, County Girls’ Vice Captain from Glen Gorse, with a gross 159.

The Nett Champion was Girls’ County Captain Victoria Mayfield, of Rothley Park who scored nett 150 and 2nd was Hannah Garner Stevens also from Rothley Park with 156.

In the 18 hole event, the champion was Scarlett Stevenson, Kirby Muxloe, with gross 92. Henrietta Geddes from Rutland Water was best nett with 71, and Gabriella Crowfoot, Kirby Muxloe was runner up nett with 72.

The 9 Hole Champion was Amelie Tutt from The Leicestershire with gross 54 and best nett with 40 was Edie Speirs from Cosby. Megan Grimwood from Kirby Muxloe was runner up with 40.5.

All great scores- well done to all of you! It was so good to see most of the girls back on the course together in this, only the second competition run this year due to Coronavirus.
The weather was great- the golf was great – all in all a really great day for Girls’ Golf!!
