If there is an undiscovered region of beauty in our area for golfers living in Birmingham and South Midlands it’s situated right here in The Peak District and the Derbyshire Dales.
It might be a little far for a day’s golfing if you come from the southern side of the second city and understandably too. But how about considering Peaks and Dales for an away weekend, a play and stay treat? Now we’re talking!
It’s an area I personally grew to love as a child, living on the outskirts and enjoying many happy days out exploring the hills, caves, rivers and streams. As a young adult I lived in The Peak District, and discovered it’s golfing delights at the same time. MG is based very close, in the Staffordshire Moorlands, right on the edge of this special region, so we are still regular visitors. One of MG’s affiliated societies, The Leekbrook Travellers won’t let me confirm the diary for the following year if it doesn’t contain a Peaks and Dales club in there somewhere.
We showcase the best of Peaks and Dales golf here and also a few ideas of the other visitor attractions here, plus a flavour of the local accommodation providers too.
Make it a perfect destination break for a few days this summer, the golf is very affordable and often a little out of the ordinary too. There’s a huge wealth of other attractions to discover too, the folks are friendly and the scenery is simply sensational. .
Think a little outside the box this summer…………….Peaks and Dales awaits.
