Buxton and High Peak Golf Club

Buxton and High Peak Golf Club

Dating back to 1887, the course has been likened to an inland links course with the 4th, 5th and 6th holes proving the point. Buxton & High Peak Golf Club is the perfect host for your golfing day out.

Heading out of town on the A6 Manchester road you can’t miss Buxton and High Peak GC.

A gloriously natural course founded in 1887 on a free draining limestone base, parkland in the main but it has unique and rugged areas more akin to inland links. This way you get some welcome variety and a test of a different kind for your game.

Holes four, five and six highlight the contrast best, tucked away in a quiet little corner, no great length but they pack a punch through a bumpy landscape with small banked up putting surfaces to target.

Signature hole though is the 8th, a downhill par three, just 135 yards in length but the quite dramatic change in elevation and little pot bunkers short of the green can make it a bit of a card wrecker if you don’t judge the club wisely. Towards the close, a succession of very attractive par fours on gently undulating terrain take you back to the clubhouse, a lovely environment for golf, you’ll want to come back for more.

.

The clubhouse has a well stocked bar, large dining area and excellent catering facilities. Visitors and societies welcomed seven days a week.
