Coventry Golf Club juniors excelled yet again in 2018 winning the South Warwickshire League for the second year running.  As in 2017, it was down to the final match away to Nuneaton where we clinched the title.  Congratulations to all our juniors who played either as a regular team member or in the reserve spot, you did us proud!

The SWL par 3 held at Nailcote was another success for Coventry GC juniors winning the Sid Mouland Trophy for the best team nett.  The Ian Woosnam Trophy for the best team gross was almost ours losing narrowly to Stratford GC.  Ellis Chester won the best individual nett.

Two outstanding results for Coventry juniors in the Warwickshire Boys Championships.  Jamie Johnson winning the 36 hole stroke play and becoming the Warwickshire under 18 boys champion and Rocco Luca taking the 36 hole matchplay title.

The Coventry Junior Open produced a home winner in Charlie Faulkner with the best nett score of 65.  We have 2 very young juniors who are both exciting prospects for the future.  11 year old Ryan Gavin won the under 12 County Championship at North Warwks and won a qualifier, Ryan also won a BJGT qualifier at Nailcote in the 11 – 12 age group and has represented the County.

10 year old Joshua Gardner entered 4 Junior Opens and took 2nd place in 2 and 3rd place in 2.  He also came 2nd in the Kenilworth Junior Masters and has been put forward for County coaching.

Coventry Juniors also won the best gross and best nett in the team competition on Sunday 11th November in the South Warwickshire Junior Golf League Finals Day and also featured in the individual prizes both gross and nett.

A huge thank you to our Professional, Martin Sutliff and his staff, the Management Committee and the Junior Committee for their interest and support throughout the year in helping the juniors to achieve such a successful season.
