The Derbyshire juniors are preparing once again for another tour around the county this summer with eight nine-hole events ahead with three categories of standard in order to ensure that no junior golfer in the county misses out.

To enter the 2024 Futures/Next Gen/New2Golf events, players must be under 14 years old on 01.01.24. They should also be one or more of the following:

– A member of a golf club in Derbyshire
– Live in Derbyshire
– Have been born in Derbyshire

  • 16th June – Chesterfield GC
  • 23rd June – Bakewell GC
  • 30th June – Brailsford GC
  • 7th July – Burton on Trent GC
  • 11th August – Alfreton GC
  • 18th August – Kedleston Park GC
  • 8th September – New Mills GC
  • 29th September – Ashbourne GC – TEAM EVENT

FUTURES TOUR

For non-handicappers or handicaps over 40 – Age group categories.

Originally established to provide U14 boys and girls the opportunity to hone their golf skills and knowledge of the game in a friendly, family orientated environment. Adapted golf rules and shortened holes to make the game more enjoyable.

NEW2GOLF

A new category for non-competitive newer players who are not yet ready for the main competitions, just wanting to ‘have ago’ in a more relaxed way. Scores not shared, no trophy to be won but juniors can move up to Futures later in the season if they want.

NEXT GEN TOUR

For the experienced U14s with a WHS handicap index of 40 or below who want to play in qualifying nine-hole stableford events. Same dates and events as the Futures, introducing juniors to more formal golf, marking their own cards and independent – caddies not allowed.
