Our longest running and favourite event on the calendar returns again in 2026. The Midlands Golfer Matchplay Masters comes forward in the year to Saturday June 6th and will be competed for on the notorious Cromwell course at Nailcote Hall for the 12th time.
It’s a pairs competition for 16 pairs in a matchplay knockout format over nine holes per round. The eight first round defeated pairs get to go again in a second chance ‘plate’ competition meaning that all 16 pairs on the day get to play a minimum of 18 holes. The finalists when we get there could play over 36 holes during the day.
We welcome all ages and abilities of golfer to pair up and join us on the day and have the chance to dethrone our 2025 champions, Ollie and Andrew (above) from the NASS Golf Society who will be back to defend their title. Our coveted ‘Shield of Dreams’ has never seen a two-time winner of the Matchplay Masters
Although the Cromwell course is a tough challenge and you’ll need to play some great golf, this day is also about it’s unique atmosphere and the camaraderie between the players that we’ve seen over the years. It’s a great social occasion on the course and inside Charley’s clubhouse at the hall.
EVENT DETAILS – SATURDAY JUNE 6th 2026
9.00 – meet and greet, Breakfast Rolls, Tea/Coffee
10.00 – shotgun start, rounds one and two
1pm approx – Lunch break – sandwiches & fries
1.45 approx – semi-finals and finals
4.30 -4.45 – prizes
Cost – £55 for a pair
