Woody’s Golf Society this year raised funds for Brendan Mann to help towards his new shower chair and comfy chair for which he had been refused funding. 20-year-old Brendan suffers from Celebral Palsy and Scoliosis.

They held a special golf day for him at West Midlands GC this autumn. On the day they raised £918 and along with a go fund me page put up by 2 bikers riding from John O’Groats to Lands End in 48 hrs they have hit £13,000, any excess will be distributed amongst other worthy causes..

Woody’s are based all around Birmingham with 32 members. This is their tenth year as a society, playing at least once a month from March to October, covering Warwickshire Worcestershire Leicestershire Shropshire and Staffordshire clubs.

They keep it all going off-season too, from October to March running a winter league which is currently played at Ansty GC.

Picture one shows Brendan in his new shower chair, newly delivered to him just after his golf day took place.
