Members meet the Officials Day.
On Sunday 27th September Barlaston Golf Club held a “Members meet the Officials Day”.
The Corona Virus had resulted in the cancellation of individual officials’ days, so the club organised a joint event as a replacement and in line with the guidelines for Covid-19.
Competition
One hundred and fifty members took part in the competition which was an individual Stableford with prizes for gents and ladies.
The Captain (Colin Sherwin) and Lady Captain (Sue Sherwin) were on hand at the 1st tee to greet and encourage the players and the President (Rod Swaries) was at the 10th tee to give further encouragement, unfortunately, the Junior Captain (Georgia Chapman) was unavailable on the day. Players were also able to obtain refreshments as they faced the second nine holes.
Prizes for the day were sponsored by the Acorn Group who also sponsor the Barlaston Junior Academy – they added to the event with a number of Kia vehicles on display.
Gator Golf Challenge a new tee sponsor at Barlaston also had an event for the members to participate in.
Winners
The gents winner on the day was Stephen Pyatt with 41 points, runner up James Walton 40 points (OCB) and the ladies winner was Catherine Hayden 34 points (OCB), runner up Pauline Clarke 34 points (OCB).
The officials thanked all those members who contributed to the day with special thanks to the event sponsors for their support.
Barlaston Golf Club are pleased to announce that Michael Beaumont will be joining the coaching team from October 2020.
Mike comes with a vast experience of coaching all levels of golfers from beginners to tour players.
We will be also using Sam putt lab for fittings and putting lessons.
