Yet another year of roaring success with 70 participants under the age of 14, including 20 girls, taking part in the 9-hole series across Derbyshire.

The Futures Tour events are age based with players taking part from shortened tees. There’s no need to be a member of a club or have a handicap and you can play competitively or in a non-competitive group! For players who have a handicap index of 40 or below, the event is run as a qualifying stableford. This progression is ideal for improving golfers who still enjoy playing 9-hole events.

The final event took place at Ashbourne Golf Club on Sunday 8th October and was run as a fun team scramble. The enthusiasm from the players and support from the club, volunteers and staff on the day created a wonderful atmosphere to round the season off.

This was a huge celebration of Derbyshire junior golf which families, friends, and players thoroughly enjoyed. Prizes were provided by our fantastic sponsor Chinnydipper, and the Golf Foundation were also generous with providing golf balls for the winners.

Organisers Jack Barker-Sabido, Eleanor Kelly and Alice Lowe would like to thank all the clubs, helpers, players and their families for making it such a great season!

Clubs who held events in 2023: Stanedge GC, Brailsford GC, Alfreton GC, Kedleston Park GC, Bakewell GC, New Mills GC, Chesterfield GC, Ashbourne GC.
