This September, an exciting end to your golf seasons as the MGALS gather at the Shropshire border for a 36-hole/two country/two day golfing challenge with all of the traditional socialising and fun guaranteed too.

Oswestry and Llanymynech Golf Clubs play host to the golf and refreshments, Oswestry town itself has an attractive range of hotels and B&Bs to choose from for those who want to stay over.

MGALS organiser and MG Lady Editor Mandy Ambert once again invites all interested lady golfers of all abilities to come along and also welcomes mixed groups to come along.

We’re hoping the Borders Challenge will usher in a new era of MGALS 36 hole+ special events at new locations all over the Midlands and beyond too from 2023 onwards. 



Dates – Sunday Sept 25th/Monday Sept 26th  2022

Format – Both days AM-AM best 2/4 scores to count. 

Day 1, Oswestry GC – Bubbly and Danish Pastries on arrival, followed by Golf – Late afternoon meal to follow in the dining room. 

Day 2 – Llanymynech GC –  Coffee and Biscuits on arrival – Golf to be followed by Sandwiches and Chips and Prize Presentation

Prizes – Day 1, 1st, 2nd and 3rd  – Day 2 1st, 2nd and 3rd 

Overall champions, a trophy for the best combined score over the 2 days

Cost – £100 pp, including golf & food at both venues
