The Hero’s Handshake award by the Young Ambassadors is an award dedicated to the Young Golfers in England.
The award is given to young people who are making a positive impact in golf and aims to highlight contributions towards the game, it also recognises young people’s achievements at every level of the game from beginners to elite level golfers. The Young Ambassadors hand out three of these awards per year and the awards are based on the three core values we have as Young Ambassadors…
- Inclusion – This could be an example of an individual making everyone in and around a golf club or golf facility feel welcome and supported, regardless of backgrounds, disabilities or ethnicity.
- Innovation – This could be an example of an individual with a really forward thinking idea, which has been implemented at their local golf club or golf facility for the benefit of new or existing young golfers.
- Inspiration – This could be an example of an individual who has made an achievement, big or small, and it has given other young golfers something to look up to and look to achieve themselves!
The winners are then chosen by us, the Young Ambassadors and we will go out and present the awards in person to the winners of each category. There is a very simple form to fill out, asking for the name of your nomination, the category of our values you think your nominee falls into and why you believe they deserve the Hero’s Handshake award. Nominations are now open and close on Monday 30th June 2025, the winners of this year’s Hero’s Handshake will be announced over the coming months!
