In 2013 John Bennett organised a golf meet at Westwood Golf Club for golfers from an online website. Golfers who contributed to the online forum of the website came from all parts of the country to play in it.

One player who attended this first meet used the online name of True Blue as he was an Everton supporter. In January of the following year True Blue was tragically killed in a car accident. John Bennett purchased a shield and had it engraved in True Blues honour and it has been played for each year since on different courses  in the area.

This year it was held at Disley Golf Club and produced the biggest ever turn out for the event. Twenty nine players came together to play for the shield. Twenty five of these were from Westwood Golf  which was fantastic as this is where it all started. The course was in it’s usual superb condition and a brilliant day was had by all. The winner this year was Jarrad Ratcliffe, with a great score, considering he had never played the course before, of 37 points.
